A BRIEF HISTORY OF BUDGIE MODELS

In 1988 Autocraft purchased the Budgie Company including what remained of both ‘Morestone’ and ‘Modern Products’ – this included old dies, tooling, machines, various part finished dies, and quantities of assorted castings. 
 

The history of the above is documented in John Ramsey’s ‘British Diecast’ Model Toys Catalogue, 12th Edition, page 279.
 

We have, over the past 30 years, adapted several of the original 1950s dies for use on modern die-casting equipment - the original hand operated machines being no longer legal. 
 

The models are all cast here in the UK, finished and assembled in-house, and produced in limited runs aimed at the collector's market.
